Based in Chicago, COLLABO is a dynamic planning and urban design practice leading innovative and equitable neighborhood revitalization projects that generate positive results and improve the lives of local residents.
COLLABO is seeking an Urban Planner or Designer to assist on a number of exciting local and national projects in 2024 and beyond. We currently have projects underway in LA, CT, PA, OH, MI, MO, NM, NC, AZ and SC.
As an ideal candidate, you should be outgoing, energetic, and comfortable working in diverse communities. We are looking for someone with a range of 2-5 years of experience. You should be a fantastic communicator, both visually, verbally and through writing, with some experience and interest in community engagement.
Your background should be in urban planning, urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture with some experience in developing neighborhood-scale plans. Experience in planning for affordable and mixed-income housing communities is a bonus.
We would prefer a candidate that could operate from our Chicago office. Travel is required as we hold a variety of meetings, events and activities in the communities in which we serve.
We recognize the importance of inclusion and diversity in all that we do. It is highly important for our team and partners to reflect the unique viewpoints and background of our host communities. Spanish language fluency is also a plus.
