East University Avenue Choice Neighborhood Plan

The East University Avenue Choice Neighborhood Plan takes a corridor-wide approach to revitalization in East Gainesville, linking housing
transformation to broader neighborhood investment.
Led by the City of Gainesville and the Gainesville Housing Authority, the effort focuses on Pine Meadows and Lake Terrace, two public housing communities with roughly 180 units, while also addressing conditions across a 1.5-square-mile area.
The East University Avenue Plan was recently selected by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grantee, receiving $25 million to implement its vision and transform the community.Â
